Patient Care Philosophy
People are experts in their own lives and it’s rewarding to discover the best solution together. I hope to journey alongside each patient in their struggle against stigmatizing and marginalizing circumstances. My goal is to decrease the stigma and the barriers that often exist in medicine. My patients have inspiring stories and often amaze me! You are worthy of excellent health care, and I am always open to your feedback.
Why I Work Here
I am thrilled to be part of a close-knit community at Carolyn Downs FMC who share a foundation of compassion, empathy, and humanism, and the motivation and energy to fight for social justice. Health is so much more than medical care. It is truly an honor to be part of a clinic that was founded by the Black Panthers and to be working on continuing their legacy of service, commitment, and connection to the community.
Well Being Philosophy
I love to laugh, try new things and go for runs. I also have a wonderful counselor and supportive community I reach out to often. I like to bake and cook, and sometimes I bring those treats to work! I’m currently learning about providing care called ‘Health at Every Size’ that takes the focus away from weight loss and diet culture and onto what makes us healthy. It’s important to me that ALL patients feel comfortable at the doctor.
