Patient Care Philosophy

I aspire to practice full spectrum family medicine, including reproductive health care, prenatal care, HIV medicine, addiction medicine, gender affirming care, behavioral health, pediatrics with a particular focus on social justice and patient advocacy.

Why I Work Here

I knew I wanted to be at Carolyn Downs because of its incredible history, founded by the Black Panthers for the Black community. From my very first day at Carolyn Downs, I knew I had found my people, a group of awe-inspiring peers that share my belief in creating diverse, anti-racist, and inclusive spaces, filled with staff that reflect the diversity of the patients being served.

Well Being Philosophy

I believe sincerely in treating the whole person; a person's physical well-being is intimately connected with their mental and emotional well-being. I strongly believe that bearing witness to and supporting patients through their various traumas, whether that be racial, gender-based, institutional or otherwise, is central to the therapeutic relationship and helping achieve a holistic sense of wellness.
