Patient Care Philosophy
I learn from my patients all the time, and I carry their stories and experiences with me every day. From them, I’ve learned to appreciate humility, curiosity, inspiration, and determination. What really drives me about my job on a personal level is getting to know individual people and having the chance to see them evolve over many years. I see the patient-provider relationship as a team, where each has a vital role to play. I want to work with people to help them achieve their own health and well being goals. I have a particular interest in Addiction Medicine, prenatal care, HIV, Hep C and sexual healthcare including PrEP and HIV. I am also involved with helping those affected by incarceration transition back into our community.
Why I Work Here
I love working for an organization that wants to be a catalyst for social justice and change within our community. This clinic and all the people that work within it push me to be a better version of myself every day. On a societal level, I'm driven by the need to dramatically transform our healthcare system into one that works for all people, challenging inequities where we see them.
Well Being Philosophy
When I'm not in the clinic, I'm running in the woods, biking, reading and writing letters on a 1950's typewriter. In my next life, I want to be a children's book author.
